Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo’s girlfriend announced on social media that their unborn son had passed away during pregnancy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gakpo’s girlfriend, Noa, posted a photo on social media showing two adult hands placed on an infant’s head wrapped in swaddling clothes, with the caption: “With broken hearts, we share this devastating news that our baby boy passed away during pregnancy. Elijah Raphael Gakpo, forever loved, forever our son.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We went to church to light a candle. Afterward, we took our son, Samuel, to the church playground. There was only one other child there. His name was Elijah. This could not be a more beautiful sign from God, reminding us that our little boy is never truly far from us.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gakpo and his girlfriend, Noa, welcomed their first child, son Samuel, in 2024. In May 2026, they announced they were expecting their second child, only to tragically suffer a miscarriage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Gakpo is with the Dutch national team competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
