Darwin Nunez has made a fine start to life with Al-Hilal and the striker was quick to remind Liverpool fans of his quality after scoring in the Asian Champions League Elite<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Darwin Nunez’s fairytale beginning with Al-Hilal rolls on \u2013 and he’s ensuring everybody’s aware of it. The Uruguayan striker departed Liverpool during the summer in a \u00a346.2m switch to Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nunez, 26, got off the mark at the weekend as he netted in a 2-2 stalemate with Al-Qadsiah. The forward then bagged another as Al-Hilal kicked off their Asian Champions League Elite journey in midweek against Al-Duhail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having begun amongst the replacements, Nunez was brought on at half-time with his team trailing 1-0 to their Qatari rivals. And it didn’t take him long to blast home from Hamad Al-Yami’s delivery to equalise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

French international Theo Hernandez netted 10 minutes later to swing the match in Al-Hilal’s direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nunez instantly turned to social media to express his joy over his latest effort and also remind Liverpool supporters of the talent he possesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He posted several photos of him celebrating with the message: “Vamos,” accompanied by a blue heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barcelona ace and Nunez’s Uruguay teammate Ronald Araujo was amongst those to respond as he answered with a muscle and fire emoji.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nunez will undoubtedly be looking to continue his encouraging recent displays in Al-Hilal’s upcoming fixture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They face Al-Ahli on Friday night \u2013 a clash that will pit him against former Premier League talents Ryiad Mahrez, Ivan Toney and Edouard Mendy. Nunez’s switch to Saudi Arabia followed a three-year stint with Liverpool during which he found the net 40 times across 143 outings in all competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The striker released a heartfelt message after his Anfield departure was made official.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Thank you, Liverpool,” the forward wrote on social media. “Three years on, it’s time to say goodbye. I’ll take with me countless memories that will live with me forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I leave with a full heart, thanks to the love of a crowd that never let me down and always had my back – through the highs and through the lows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Liverpool will always be part of who I am. I’ll miss you more than words can say. To all the staff and my teammates – thank you and all the very best for the future.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mohamed Salah was amongst those who offered Nunez a warm send-off, whilst the Liverpool icon also stepped in to back the striker after suggestions that signing Alexander Isak from Newcastle constituted an ‘upgrade’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
